hello i am slowly working on getting 100 points by opening treasure chests. I would also like to get some nice gold stuff for all my new alts i created.

Anyways so far I carry 3 lockpicks and just open whatever chest i spot on eye of the north. Any guides out there for treasure chest farming? Or any advice is greatly appreciated.

One that I've seen commonly suggested, primarily because of it's ease is to run between Boreal Station and the Eye of the North outpost. I think there's four possible chests that can spawn here.

The first section only has stationary Wurms that only have melee attacks, then there's a few Avalanches. There's not usually any chests beyond the Avalanches so once you reach them just map back to Boreal and start again.

Another option for obtaining golds is to run all of the Treasures in Nightfall, see http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Treasure for more details. As this doesn't require lockpicks though it won't add to your Treasure Hunter Title, but it provides a decent amount of money to buy more lockpicks. Just take note that you can only do this roughly once a month.

thank you very much, and what i was trying to find out was the easiest/cheapest way to get 50 more chest with minimal or no enemy fighting just running around.

any area have guarantee gold drops by any chance? I need to get the title for scanning gold drops with identifier.

Also is it possible to run places like urgoz warren, the deep or the underworld for chests? the weapons that drop there have cool skins.

How is the factions areas anyways the keys are pretty cheap.

chests will either drop a gold or purple--there is no longer any way to find out what the chest will drop.....its all chance. (in HM they may also drop tomes)

The chance for a gold is higher on a HM chest but so is the chance your lockpick will break. The Treasure hunter and wisdom titles are titles that require the biggest grind to max. Both require a total of 10000 points (1 point per chest, or 1 point per gold).

That being said running the chests outside of Boreal Station is probably the easiest and quickest way to get chests. I can usually get about 40-50 an hour. Kilroy's punchout is also fairly easy and quick, maybe even quicker, but I like Boreal better.

I prefered 2 closest chests in Cathedral of Flames dungeon.
Easy to get with SF sin in 2 minutes

Also, running Boreal is bad, there are way more efficient chest runs out there in Cantha, and they have potential of dropping way more valuable items.

Also, running 100 chests takes you maybe 2h tops if you put yourself into it. It's really easy.
